In the moment before breath is Stillness. Stillness is at the center of all motion, at the center of the storm. It is not simply a lack of movement; it is the creative center of life. It is not a lifeless state or the dullness of inertia. In Craniosacral Biodynamic we call it Dynamic Stillness. It is wide and full of vitality.
Breathing calmly, silencing mind chats, and going into that Stillness may be helpful to enjoy the holidays. Even when thoughts are spinning or suffering is present; at the center of it, all is Stillness. In Biodynamic practice we use the conscious shifting of our awareness to this Stillness as a therapeutic tool. Being with a person with a sense of open awareness in Stillness allows us to truly meet the other, from a space of inherent wisdom, compassion and coherence that is always present within us.
We wish you Happy Holidays!
